Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS) should be considered in children who express episodic or sustained hypoventilation and hypoxemia in the first few months of life in the absence of obvious cardiopulmonary disease, structural abnormalities of the brainstem, or clinical evidence of neuromuscular disease.
